Funny times in coaching sessions

Hi life-path-adventurers!

I wanted to share this funny story with you. One of my clients is really working on her confidence with public speaking, as her dream is to be a TV show host, and famous writer (and more!). She asked me to really challenge her public speaking nerves. So I asked her what her biggest fear was, related to public speaking. She answered that she was afraid she would go blank, and forget everything she had prepared or knew. So I asked her, "What's one way you could induce this situation to happen, this week, so you can face your worst fear?" She wasn't sure what I meant, so I thought I'd give her an example. I said, "For instance, you could go to the park, yell, 'Hey everybody, I'm going to say something important!' and then you could just stare at them, blankly." She nearly fell off her sofa, laughing. "That's what I'll do," she said. "Only I'm going to do it in the middle of the city (of London)!" We laughed and got excited about her coming adventure. She even decided to film it and may even post it on youtube!

This week, I invite you to name your worst fear, and face it in a way you can handle. Remember that you are free to revise the "dare." You can find the dare that is most relevant for you. And then you can even work your way up to it if you want to. Because the journey of 1,000 miles starts with a single step forward! :)
