For a long time now, I have been wanting to raise my price as a life coach, because I know what I bring is worth a great deal. And secondly, because I want to grow my business instead of just making ends meet. I want to reach out for the next level of goal-attainment. I want to play that higher game.
I had a lot of reluctance to do this, though, because I worried that raising my prices would cut off a large percentage of my business, who simply might not be able to afford me.
Finally, I had a 20 minute coaching session with myself - yes - with me playing both the coach asking questions, and me playing myself answering.
I realized that an old doubting voice in my head kept saying (like a record on repeat), "Slow and steady wins the race."
But I was ready to be a hare! I wanted to quickly hop towards my dreams, and I knew that if I didn't ask for my dream, it would have a harder time coming to me.
Finally, I realized I could be BOTH the tortoise and the hare. Why not? I realized I could ask the world for the amount I wanted in order to meet my current goals and charge where I felt I was worth, and at the same time, I could offer a sliding scale so that I could potentially coach a few people who couldn't afford to pay my price but really seemed to deserve coaching!
