I was thinking about how in this day and age, artists, musicians, writers, and all sorts of creative people, are learning more and more how to use the internet as an effective portal through which people all over the world can purchase their creations. And more programs are being created or being popularized through which they can get the word out, and host samples: images, mp3's, and e-books! There are so many established sites: from Amazon, which allows you to self-publish e-books for the kindle in a few minutes, to Myspace which allows you to host songs, to Facebook, where you can upload pictures of your creations and then get the word out to your friends and acquaintances! Even etsy.com is a growing virtual gallery within which artists can show!
And now, since artists can cheaply, easily, and quickly show work and process orders through the net, there is less of a filtering by big record labels, galleries, publishers and other artist-promoting companies. So now there can be a wider variety of art shown to the world. And when there are even more ideas being shared with the world, there is even more growth! There is now a richer and greater complexity to the artistic part of our world! Now, our minds can be even more opened by all of this amazing art, and we can be increasingly inspired.
Additionally, artists, musicians, writers, and creative people can find their audience out in the world, and be able to support their passion and fulfill their destiny of making more art! While support may not come instantly, if the artist hones their focus, their passion, their constancy to their goals, and their willingness to try new things that are in line with themselves, it seems that, with these tools, they will be able to meet their goals, and if not, at least be able to make an impact that could ripple throughout art history.
As a creative motivational person, I harness this inspiring renaissance energy by continually honing my focus, my passion, and my constancy to my goals. Let's work together to harness this wonderful age!
