Creating an Ideal Life Vision Statement!

One of the things I do is help people create amazing visions for how they want their world to be. These visions are extremely helpful for people: these visions pump them up, make them feel happy, hopeful, and the visions inspire ideas which help people make their dreams come true faster than ever!

In this exercise, you'll want to create a description of your ideal life, written as if someone is telling you about how wonderful your life is, right now. So this description of your ideal life is best if addressed to you: as if someone is talking to you, using your name several times, and should be told in the present tense, not as what's going to be, but as if this is your daily life, as if you have already created the exact life you want.

Here is an example of how a vision statement may start out:

Congratulations, Sara! You have achieved your ideal perfect life! Each day, you enjoy yourself. The inner voice inside you which insisted you do things the hard way has been replaced by a positive voice which encourages you to have fun! You wake up each morning with a little thrill of joy. You are so happy, because you know your day will be filled with the things you truly want to do. You are relaxed and at ease, and have that vacation-like, no-worries feeling every single day. During your day, you exercise, you spend time with your dogs on the sofa, relaxing, you conduct fascinating research, and you write new material for your latest book. You are always excited about some upcoming event you will be attending, like a Rolling Stones concert or a Shakespeare play, because you enjoy these things and because you know you are always going either with your own great company, your husband who is the love of your life, your friends, or your daughter, Mary, who brings so much joy to your world.
Sara, you live in your perfect home that is fully paid for, in the perfect area and community, in perfect proximity to Mary, in the perfect neighborhood for you and your dogs, in the perfect location to center your work, near wonderful natural beauty and favorable weather, and in a wonderful personal community for you. You are very near to Mary, so you have time to be together often. You have the freedom to do all the things you love, to control your time, and you have all the money you want and more, which makes you feel secure. There is special beauty all around you, everyday. You have a pool, sculptured bushes, statues, paintings, and you live in a safe, lovely neighborhood. Everything around you is lovely.
Sara, You are often with your inspiring friends who make you laugh, and you have the time and freedom to develop these amazing friendships. You are part of a creative and fun art-making club, and part of a group of women who do healing work for the planet. You are no longer insular, but connected. You have opened your inner garden up to the wonderful people in the world.

(This vision statement would probably have another 2 to 3 single spaced pages to complete the vision of the new life!)

Helpful questions to ask your self for this vision statement: (And please jot down thoughts that come to you as you process these questions)

Where do you most want to live?

Who do you want in your life and in what ways?

What are some affirmations you would like to say to yourself in this vision? For example: "You are a brilliant, phenomenally successful business person, progressively realizing a worthy ideal."

What negative things are no longer there in your ideal life, and what are they replaced by?

In our life coaching, I will ask you these and many more probing questions to get to the heart of what you really want. Then I will compose a vision statement just for you. Then you or I can record it, so that you can have it to listen to, and replace your old limiting beliefs!
